Aug 30

hey guys,
...a, quote:"We desire to know the cause of your thoughtless state"end quote, pointing mournfully to a empty box with a flag on a poll that stands dark, cold, and containing within it a seemingly endless void sucking all light and life and all that is good out of the lives of those who would call themselves it's owners -- such is the description of a missionaries mailbox in times when the letters of encouragement, current news, and much appreciated letters of advice or council are not to be found within its walls.  Please do not feel obligated to make some form of something outrageous like a weekly letter requirement or things like that but a letter or something of that sort would be a welcome surprise and/or treat.  On that note, did you ever hear about that Dear Elder website that lets you write an email to your missionary then they print it up and send it to your missionary like a regular letter? course I have also heard that they only do that for missionaries that are in the mtc but anyhow I still thought it was a cool idea.
Anyway about the previous email you sent and the questions therin(AARRGG!!ITS HAPPENING AGAIN! NOT ONLY AM I USING WORDS IN MY EVERYDAY SPEECH THAT PEOPLE FIND FUNNY AND/OR BIG, I'M STARTING TO USE THEM IN MY WRITING AND TYPING TOO!!!!) about that baptism you said I mentioned, and I am pretty sure that I probably did, it seemed for a time that we were going to have one happen very soon but as it turns out the day didn't work out for their schedule and the schedules of some family members that they wanted to be there, and so they moved the date to a later day and it seems that it is continually getting pushed farther back and they kind of seem to be dodging us, but hopefully its just a little bit of bad timing for now.
However if things keep going the way they are it is likely that I will be transferred out of this area before the baptism actually happens.  On that same note I have been here (in my greenie area) for the last 7 months! so everyone is saying that it is likely that I will be getting moved this coming week.  Personally I have split feelings about it, I would like to stay but I would also like to go to another area for a change. but before I go I need to get something that I didn't think to get when I first got out here -- I need address cards.  The mission office offers us packs of something around either 500 cards or maybe less but I can't remember right now, although they do need to be payed for and the packs cost $15.25, I am pretty sure that I will be able to get a pack by my own means before the transfer is up but there is no real guarantee about that so if it's possible I was wondering if you guys could put about 5 bucks on my card for me, it would make things a whole lot easier for me but if that is an inconvenience for you that don't worry bout it, I was just hoping that you could as the term says "give me a quick boost" but it is not any kind of emergency.
 so anyway, about the seventy two hour kits that I mentioned a few weeks ago, I actually managed to get a hold of some backpacks that are in pretty good condition so that situation has been taken care of for the most part.  Also I don't remember if I asked you guys if you had ever heard of Indo Boards, I just wanted to see if you had heard of them or seen them because I had a chance to try one out and it was fun but also a great workout, they are also a great way to learn balance, and so anyway just thought I'd mention that and so next subject.
What else is happening back home? any repercussions in Utah from the hurricane and or earthquake on the east coast? oh and now that I remember, my shirt size hasn't changed since I got out here but nonetheless my size is 16 1/2, my pants do seem a little big on me, mostly around the waist they have seemed to have gotten a little tight around the thighs but they still fit me pretty well, and so if I recall correctly my waist size was measured at missionary mall to be 33, and I would assume that I am still that size currently.
On the subject of missionary mall, if you ever get the chance could you ask them if the hems they put on their suit pants are made specifically to wear out quickly as to make us have to go to a seamstress or dry cleaners to get it put back together? because in the 7 months that I have been out I have had to go to get my hems redone at least 6 different times, maybe more, maybe less I don't remember but the question is asked nonetheless.
Thanks for all your help and your emails, I love you all and hopefully I will be able to get those letters/packages out this week and a early birthday and late fathers day gift for dad, hope you guys have a good week, tell everyone hi from me.

LATER;-}
Elder Edward C.D. Parker

PS: on a final note the temple trip before this last one we did get to go but we were too late to do the endownment session we had been schedualed to go to, so we did initaitories that day, and one other thing does the pocket getting nearly ripped off count as something missionary mall will repair? please let me know, I will get you a picture of it, I thought I already had but I guess I deleted it after I sent a copy of the picture to you guys please check for me, thanks.
