sounds like you have had a great week. Our first week in this new area has been a interesting one. That temple trip sounds like it was a good learning experience as well as a fun one and you just had to mention the fact that Kestra is one year old now! Yeah go and make me feel old now and I have only been out almost 8 months. Anyway since we're on that topic, about our new area we got whitewashed into it, and we were also replacing the sisters who were previously here.
We are now in the mid northern part of our mission, still on the coast, but there are a lot bigger hills here! So just a little summary of the events of our first week as they have been great and terribly unique;-P, first on Thursday night we had a power outage that went from Arizona to San Fransisco and even all the way down into upper mexico, and it lasted from mid afternoon to about 11 o-clock that night. we had a little bit of fun while the power was out but we still stayed safe until it came back on. Then on saturday we woke up to a rainstorm, it started (as elder spaulding told me because he got up before I did) as a slight sprinkle but as time went on it steadly became harder and thicker and louder, but by this time I was awake and was wondering what was happening, and went and saw the rain coming down, I took a few pics and a little video for you but I guess that the video will have to wait for a little bit before I can get it to you guys.
Sorry that I didn't get this email to you last week, the library was having trouble with it's power and we kept getting cut off so many times that we just weren't able to send our emails, so I'm sorry about that.
I think you need to know is that for some reason they made my copay $75 and at the time I didn't have enough to cover it, but I think that heavenly father was watching out for me again and I was lucky enough to be at the pharmacy register that was being run by a relative of a member we are working with and she had heard about us visiting with them and had always(as she put it, I can't remember all that was said) wanted to do something for the missionaries so she paid for 25 of it and I was lended 25 from my companion, and she said that I didn't need to worry about paying her back, personaly I was kind of taken back by it but I was gratefull and let her know and so thats that.
we also have another pridicament our laundry here costs money to use; it takes $1 for washing and $1.25 for drying, ya I know it stinks but we don't have other options except to borrow members machines if you have any coments or major concerns about it please let me know in your next email.
so i will respond to your other email next and fill you in more on what has happened in that next email, love you all and I will try to get some letters to you guys soon, and also I will try to send a package your guy's way it is going to have things for both dad, don's bday and some things I need to send home.
by the way the mormon tab choir cd that you sent me a little while back has a few issues so I am going to be burning it's data to another cd soon and send the original back to you guys to see if you can do anything with it, and I am not doing this because I don't like it, I love that music, its just that the cd is a bit scrached up. thanks for everything, love you all.
LATER;-}
Elder Edward C.D. Parker
